The Prince of Wales plans to participate in the United Nations climate conference in Brazil in the coming weeks, as confirmed by the royal household.
Prince William and King Charles appeared together on Thursday night at a reception leading up to the environmental conference, which is planned for in the Amazonian city of Belem.
Father and son were participating in the Natural History Museum reception, marking an noteworthy combined presence at a climate summit preparatory event co-hosted by the British authorities.

The King has been a longstanding advocate of biodiversity preservation - and Prince William has taken on the baton, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be hosted in Rio ahead of the climate conference.

The monarch and his heir, arriving together in the royal vehicle, were greeted attendees such as environmentalists, scientists, climate change campaigners, diplomats and government officials.
